In Finland's Development Policy regional cooperation complements other channels of development assistance. The Southern African region is one of Finland's main partners in regional co-operation. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland has also an active role as an International Cooperating Partner to regional organizations such as SADC, NEPAD and other.
Science, technology and innovation
The Energy and Environment Partnership Programme in Southern and East Africa (EEP-S&EA) supports renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in 13 Southern and East African countries (Botswana, Burundi, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia).
