The Local Cooperation Fund call for concept notes is now open and will close on Tuesday the 15th of December 2015 at 12.00 o'clock. Concept notes submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
The application process is simple and straightforward. The application process has two stages:
Proposals will be assessed based on agreed selection criteria. The selection criteria will consist of relevance, sustainability, local needs and priorities, and coherence with the Finnish development policy. The proposals will also be assessed in terms of effectiveness and efficiency for achieving the overall objectives, and delivering tangible results.
Further, the proposed approach and methodology - including planning, management, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, risk assessment, and the proposed implementation budget – will be assessed.
At minimum the project funding can be granted for duration of one year and a maximum of two and a half years. Preference is given to local actors with experience that have the necessary organizational structures in place.
A maximum of 6 - 8 project partners will be selected and supported, in South Africa, Botswana and Lesotho.
Applicants are invited to propose project ideas through short concept papers (maximum of 4 pages).
